Google Earth is a website and application that allows you to pick a location and Google will take you there. You will see an immersive image on the screen for the wherever you want to go.
Google Earth has updated to become even more awesome. The user interface (overall look and feel) has improved. It is now easier to go on explorations any where you want in the world. It will allow you to use Google Street View to travel the streets of your old hometown or explore new cities.
